I am a certified Psychoenergetics practitioner . After successfully completing the 4-year training (2014–2018) at the Psychoenergetics (PSEN) Training Institute in Spain, I additionally, deepened my expertise in this method through a further 3-year intensive training under the guidance of Michael Mervosh (American licensed psychotherapist) and Irene Tobler (from Switzerland).

What is Psychoenergetics?

Psychoenergetics is an integrative, body-oriented approach that combines depth psychology with process-oriented guidance. At its core is the therapist’s "embodied and mindful presence," which supports the client's healing and developmental process.

This approach enables a gentle exploration of unconscious and subtle layers of the psyche that shape human desires, conflicts, and inner contradictions. The work draws on diverse psychological and spiritual traditions, including:

  • Depth Psychology by C. G. Jung – for the exploration of the unconscious.

  • Buddhist Mindfulness Practices – to enhance awareness and presence.

  • Character Styles and Affect Theory by Nancy McWilliams and S. Johnson – to understand patterns of emotional response.

  • Hindu Energy Systems and Kundalini Breathing Techniques – for inner energy work.

  • Bioenergetic Exercises by A. Lowen – for physical and emotional relief.

This interdisciplinary approach supports a holistic developmental process that addresses body, mind, and soul equally.

Psychodynamic Psychotherapy belongs to the family of psychoanalytic therapies and is based on the long-standing tradition of analytical understanding of psychological disorders and their treatment. At the same time, it integrates modern body- and energy-oriented therapeutic approaches to address psychological and physical issues more effectively.

The approach combines a psychoanalytic foundation with body-oriented techniques. The focus of psychodynamic therapy is on understanding and addressing unconscious dynamics and personality structures, underlying current problems. The therapeutic process emphasizes the recognition and processing of unconscious conflicts, as well as the integration and restructuring of problematic aspects of the personality.

Why is the body included?

Since psychoanalysis primarily relies on language, its methods can only access the linguistically available (verbal) areas of the psyche. However, fundamental personal developmental conflicts often arise before the age of three, during pre- and non-verbal developmental phases. To include those, body-oriented techniques are also incorporated.

How is the body engaged in psychotherapy?

  • Mobilization of energy and bodily processes: Through touch and targeted body techniques, energetic blockages are released, and new energy pathways are activated.

  • Addressing primary needs: The work takes place on a physical-emotional level, where both the concrete and symbolic meanings of emotional states and bodily sensations are explored (e.g., gaining a deeper understanding of the needs underlying uncontrolled emotional and physical responses and finding new ways to express them).

Unlike other body-oriented therapeutic approaches, these techniques are not rigidly predefined. Instead, they are flexibly adapted to the individual or group-specific situation within the therapeutic process. This allows for the creation of a personalized and dynamic healing process.
